Announcing our new logo
Big news! As we start 2025 we’re starting it with a new look and are excited to unveil a new logo!
Since our founding 10 years ago, we’ve matured as an organization—in staff, approach and focus. We started with one grad student and two field assistants and are now a professional team of over 40, seeing profound success in reducing human and wildlife conflict in Botswana. We’re honored to be serving the community and fostering holistic approaches, so that lions and people can thrive.
Our original logo featured a leopard, herder and cattle. Our new logo stays true to this work, with the local community at the heart of what we do, and their livelihood—the cattle—living in harmony with lions.
We feature the colors of our home in the African bush, reminding us of strength, optimism, connection, stability, tradition and the Earth. And we include a subtle nod to the waterway of the Okavango Delta, rendered in the calm blue color of Botswana’s flag. Our new look is dynamic, inclusive, and confident about our future—together.
This new brand is inspired by, and pays tribute to, the stunning landscapes and communities of Botswana. It also still retains the roundness of our original logo look, representing our holistic approach, and keeps the clean, welcoming typography from our founding.
“We’re thrilled to have this new identity better reflect the work we do,” said Andrew Stein, founder and executive director of CLAWS Conservancy. “We pulled so many voices together to create this logo and wanted to elevate the role of people and value of local communities in wildlife work. Our modern, new logo also showcases the majesty of lions and sums up who we as an organization are in a compelling way. I hope our communities, staff, partners, funders and champions all see themselves in our new look. I’m thrilled.”
Thank you

Thank you also to our communities, field staff and partners for guidance and grounding for this work, and to our core project team of board members in the USA, Maliasili and leadership staff in Botswana.
